Not only does the Birmingham Public Library provide your favorite books and DVDs, one branch also offers a new way to enjoy them. Avondale Branch Library features Adaptations, a book club with a cinematic twist. Each month the library hosts a screening party where the movie is viewed, and an after party where the book and film are discussed. Patrons are invited to attend either program, and may attend both for the full experience. The programs are free and open to the public.

February's title is Kathryn Stockett's The Help, and the screening and discussion will be held on Sunday, February 12, at 2:30 p.m. Learn more about the book-to-film club at http://www.avondaleadaptations.blogspot.com/.

Adaptations: Read the book. See the movie. Share the experience.
