2012 Street Lit Book Award Medal Winners

The Street Lit Book Award Medal (SLBAM) Committee has announced the award winners for 2011 publications. The winners and honorees were nominated based on popularity of books as read by the public in school, academic and public library settings. The teen/young adult literature winner is Upgrade U by Ni-Ni Simone.

Ni-Ni Simone novels are full of humor, romance, life lessons and drama. Seventeen-year-old Seven McKnight is about to begin a new and exciting life as a college freshman. Seven and Shea are roommates at Stiles U, and quickly meet their new roommate, Kya, a New Orleans native party girl, and the three become inseparable.
