The Dannon Project, BPL Hosting Fall Fest Health Fair & Voter Registration Drive on October 3


Need to get a health checkup and register to vote?

You can get both done and more on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at the Central Library as The Dannon Project and the Birmingham Public Library (BPL) are partnering to host a Fall Fest Health Fair & Voter Registration Drive.

The event at the Central Library will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Vendors will include the following: One Roof, Cargus Eyecare, Dannon Training Institute, Cahaba Valley Healthcare (dental), Veteran Affairs, Susan B. Komen Foundation, Crisis Center,  Olli-University Alabama, Gene Testing, AIM Medical, Jefferson Co. Youth Affairs Committee Voter Registration, AIDS Alabama, and Regions Bank.

Free services will be as follows:

 Health Fair

  • Blood pressure check
  • Diabetes screening
  • STD/HIV screening
  • Vision screening
  • Glucose and cholesterol screening
  • Blood drive
  • Other health-related topics

Voter Registration Drive

  • Register to vote
  • Get voting/polling place information
  • Get information to restore your voting rights
  • 18 year old old males can sign up for the selective service
  • Veterans can sign up to get their DD-214 and other services

The Dannon Project envisions a community where returning citizens and at-risk youth have the tools and support needed to become law-abiding productive citizens who participate in building healthy and safe communities. The agency provides supportive services that include short-term training, certifications, job placement, and re-entry case management services to repair, restore, and renew the lives of our participants.
