Titusville Library Hosting Meet & Greet New Staff Wednesday, September 8

Titusville Branch Library has a new branch manager. Reba Williams began overseeing the library, located at #2 6th Avenue SW, in August 2021.

Williams, who has been employed for 20 years at the Birmingham Public Library, has a Master of Library and Information Studies from the University of Alabama. She wrote a blog for BPL last year about obtaining a master's degree in the midst of a pandemic.  Williams is currently pursuing a doctorate at UA in Communication & Information Sciences, with a concentration on Librarianship, Social Justice and Inclusion.

Williams has been busy meeting patrons and neighborhood leaders over the past couple of weeks and is excited to join the Titusville community.

"I am thrilled to continue to be a part of the Birmingham Public Library family," Williams said. "Everyone has been so welcoming and supportive."

The public is invited to a "Meet & Greet the New Staff of Titusville Library" on Wednesday September 8, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Besides Williams, other staff at Titusville Library are: Noelle Gueringer, full-time Library Assistant III; Linda McFarland, part-time Library Assistant III, and Leon Dure, part-time Library Assistant II.

As branch manager at Titusville Library, Williams said her goal is to uphold the mission of Birmingham Public Library, which is to provide the highest quality library service to our citizens for life-long learning, cultural enrichment, and enjoyment.

"The library will work to be an integral part of building upon the services and programs that are currently offered at Titusville Branch Library," she said.
