Epic Norse Poem by Tolkien Published After 70 Years

Before J.R.R. Tolkien wrote The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings series, he wrote an epic poem when he was a professor at Oxford University retelling the legend of Sigurd and Gudrun. Tolkien's son, Christopher, is the editor of The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrún and wrote an introduction for his father's last published work. No part of this work has ever been reproduced or quoted from since it was written over 70 years ago. Tolkien died in 1973.

Tolkien's poem tells the story of Sigurd, a Norse hero and dragon-slayer, the revenge of his wife, Gudrun, and the fall of the Nibelungs.
