Caribbean Culture To Be Explored at Brown Bag Lunch Program, July 10

Pauline J. Ford-Caesar, President, Central Alabama Caribbean American Organization
with Kendell Jno-Finn, Vice-President, Central Alabama Caribbean American Organization.

Most Americans are unaware of the many connections shared between the history and culture of the United States and the Caribbean. From shared foods and music to the many famous Americans born in the Caribbean—from Founding Father Alexander Hamilton to Frasier star Kelsey Grammer—the U.S. and the Caribbean have influenced one another and passed traditions back and forth for centuries. Martin Luther King, Jr. often vacationed in the Caribbean and did much of his writing there.

Pauline J. Ford-Caesar, President of the Central Alabama Caribbean American Organization will share the documentary short Jamaica … Reflections and explore the rich story of the Caribbean and the people who call it home.

Traditional Caribbean foods will be available for sampling. Wednesday, July 10, noon.
