BPL Participating in Back to School Giveaway Wednesday at Curbside Pickup Locations

The Birmingham Public Library is participating in a volunteer effort to provide back-to-school items for students in the Birmingham City School System.

Free back to school supplies will be provided at BPL's four regional libraries offering curbside pick up of library materials Wednesday while supplies last. The participating regional libraries are Avondale, Five Points West, North Birmingham and Springville Road.

The supplies were donated by Publix grocery chain and SERVED, a nonprofit in metro Birmingham.

 SERVED is on a mission to improve the lives of our youth through community service projects that focus on the learning needs of students and working needs of teachers. SERVED volunteers are offering their time and talents to positively impact our students and create lasting memories.

Volunteer efforts are centered around students and teachers in the Jefferson County School District.
