Bama Air Dogs joined the Avondale Regional Branch Library for our Summer Reading Program last Tuesday, June 14!
Oceans of Possibilities continues at the Birmingham Public Library (BPL) with more exciting programs this week, like silk screen printing at the Pratt City Branch Library and Murder Mystery Mayhem at the Avondale Library. Keep reading to find out more!

Lighthouse by the Sea Totes: Silk Screen Printing

Get ready to pack your essentials in a tote that any beachgoer would love. Spend a fun hour decorating and adding color to a lighthouse image that's been screen printed. All participants get to take their totes home. All materials will be provided. Space is limited; registration is required.

Make a beautiful, beaded sun catcher to celebrate the summer. You can hang it in front of a window to stop birds from flying into the window and enjoy it from the comfort of your indoors.

Have you ever wondered how jellyfish glow? Some species of jellyfish can glow through a process called phosphoresces (glowing) in which they absorb energy from other sources (like food) and release it in the form of light. Participants will make a glowing jellyfish craft and learn other fascinating facts about jellyfish. The glowing jellyfish will look amazing at night hanging in the front foyer of the library. Registration required.
UABArtPlay Paint with East Ensley Branch Library

This program is happening off-site at the Ensley Recreation Center. Pick up your paintbrush and let the colors flow as students in this class will dive into learning about the amazing world of seashells. Discover how mollusks make their shells, use them for protection and camouflage and then create a beautiful piece of shell art to take home!
Whale of a Tale Thursdays
