Celebrate Alabama’s vibrant literary community at the 2025 Local Author Expo, where 30 authors from across the state will gather to showcase their work, share their creative journeys, and connect with readers and aspiring writers.

This year’s theme celebrates the power of storytelling to bridge communities and inspire readers everywhere,  from local neighborhoods in metro Birmingham to the world stage.

Whether you’re a lifelong book lover, a new writer seeking inspiration, or an author looking for ways to market your work and grow your audience, this free event is for you!

Connect with 30 talented Alabama authors, explore their books, and discover new local voices. Books will be available for purchase and signing by authors during the event.

🎤 Keynote Speaker
Gain insights from Jim Reed, owner of Jim Reed Books in Birmingham, as he shares wisdom from his decades of experience in the literary world.

🖋️ Author Spotlights
Hear from five featured authors as they discuss their books and share lessons from their publishing and marketing journeys:
Dana Bari (pen name of Fanchon Muhammad), Vallean Jackson, Cederic Deloach, Corey McKinney, and Loretta Herring.
