Are you paying too much for cable TV?

Do you have difficulty finding anything on television worth watching?

Do you need help understanding TV streaming services?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, make plans now to attend the "Cutting the Cord" class on Wednesday, November 17, 2021,  from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.  pm at the Springville Road Regional Branch Library.  Patrons have an opportunity to attend this class in-person or to watch it online through Zoom.

Cord cutters are people who have adapted to antenna or streaming services to avoid the high costs of subscribing to cable television. In this class, you will discover cable alternatives with an antenna or streaming services, and the technology needed to become a cord cutter.

You will learn how to choose an antenna, pick a streaming service, and find out what options best fit your entertainment needs and budget.

The Birmingham Public Library (BPL) and Jefferson County Library Cooperative (JCLC) support cord-cutting through partnering with services like Hoopla  and Kanopy, which offer movies, documentaries, and television shows for free using your library card.

Remember, this class will meet in-person and also be available online through Zoom. Online attendees must register in advance to receive the log-in information. For registration details, please contact Springville Road Library Adult Department at (205) 226-4083.
