Birmingham, Ala. - The Titusville Branch Library is debuting a new Girl Scouts Troop and will begin hosting weekly English as a Second Language classes starting Tuesday, March 8.
Young ladies desiring to take adventures and make a difference in their communities are invited to come join the Girl Scouts and create new friends every Tuesday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 at Titusville Library, #2 6th Avenue SW.

In adjacent to the Girl Scouts meeting, Titusville Library is encouraging anyone interested in learning English to sign up for fun, educational English as a Second Language in-person sessions every Tuesday, 4:00 to 5:45 p.m.. The Literacy Council of Central Alabama is collaborating with Titusville Library to provide this essential need in our community.

What: Titusville Library Girl Scouts Club
When: Every Tuesday, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Where: Titusville Library, #2 Sixth Avenue SW
Details: Whether they’re sleeping under the stars reading a book, creating the most colorful work of art yet, or teaming up with their new best friends to build a robot, Girl Scouts grow into their strongest, kindest, most resilient selves—with moments of joy every step of the way.
Bring your daughter or granddaughter to this informational session beginning Tuesday afternoon, March 8, 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Come weekly and watch them make a difference in the world—and in themselves!
The first Girl Scouts Troop was founded in 1912 in Savannah, Georgia by Juliette Gordon Low, who gathered 18 girls who shared their sense of curiosity and show them "they could do anything."
Today, there are about 2.5 million girl and adult Girl Scout members, and an estimated 50 million women who have experienced the joy of Girl Scout sisterhood. Girl Scouts is the largest leadership organization for girls in the world.
What: Titusville Library English as a Second Language (ESOL) Classes
When: Every Tuesday, 4:00 to 5:45 p.m.
Where: Titusville Branch Library, #2 Sixth Avenue SW
Details: The Literacy Council of Central Alabama is presenting free English as a Second Language classes for adults every Tuesday afternoon at Titusville Library. The goal is to develop basic English speaking, reading, and listening skills. Topics will include how to introduce yourselves to others, express likes and dislikes, ask/answer questions, and much more!
All instructional materials will be provided for participants. The Adult ESOL Program provides basic English language instruction to Titusville and surrounding Birmingham residents whose native language is not English.
The Literacy Council's mission is to improve the lives of adults and their families through literacy education that teaches people to read, write and speak English.
