What is Bards & Brews?
Now in its 15th year, Bards & Brews is one of the Birmingham Public
Library’s most beloved programs, proving libraries are more than just a place
for books. It’s a free monthly open mic night that brings together a
diverse mix of voices, ages, and backgrounds, celebrating the power of spoken
word in a welcoming, high-energy setting. Expect laughter, passion, truth, and
maybe even a standing ovation.
🍻 Craft beer samples from
the Birmingham Public Library are available for ages 21 and up (valid I.D.
required).
🎟 Free admission | Ages 18+ welcome
No registration required. Just show up, sign up, and speak
up. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for poetry open mic sign-ups. Music from Viktoria
will begin shortly after 6:30 p.m. before poetry begins to flow.
Bards & Brews is made possible thanks to generous
support from the Alabama State Council on the Arts.
