Vulcan Park & Museum to Host Bards & Brews Open Mic Poetry Event on October 3

 


What: BPL’s Bards & Brews Open Mic Poetry 
When: Friday, October 3, 2025 | 6:30–8:30 p.m. (on-site registration opens at 6:00 p.m.)
Where: Vulcan Park & Museum,1701 Valley View Drive, Birmingham, AL 35209

Details: Join host Thed Weller as the Birmingham Public Library's spoken word poetry/craft beer event goes on the road for an open Mic at Vulcan Park & Museum. Entertainment will be provided by Brent Story.  Admission is free to the public. Ages 18+ to enter; must be 21+ with valid ID to drink.

Birmingham, Ala. - The Birmingham Public Library invites you to experience the magic of spoken word as Bards & Brews hosts an Open Mic poetry event at Vulcan Park  Museum atop Birmingham's Red Mountain, 1701 Valley View Drive. on Friday, October 3. Thed Weller will again serve as host and rapper Brint Story will serve as musical entertainment. Story has been a longtime poet participant at past Bards & Brews.  

Now in its 15th year, Bards & Brews has become one of BPL’s most popular programs, known for uniting Birmingham’s arts community and providing a stage for some of the city’s most talented spoken word performers.
