🥂 Classic Cocktails 2026: Where Classic Week Helps Libraries Transform Birmingham🥂

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Magic City Classic is Birmingham’s biggest annual celebration of HBCU pride, tradition, and community. Football fans can kick off their weeklong celebration at the 5th Annual Classic Cocktails, happening Tuesday, October 27, 2026, from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. at the Central Library in downtown Birmingham, 2100 Park Place.

If you’re looking for a safe, stylish alternative to the nightclub scene, Classic Cocktails is the perfect choice, a festive evening where good vibes meet a great cause. Every ticket sold helps fund free programs and services at all 17 Birmingham Public Library locations.

🎉 A Safe, Stylish Way to Kick Off Classic Week

Classic Cocktails combines the excitement of Classic Week with the warmth of community. Enjoy an elegant, secure environment surrounded by friends, alumni, and supporters, without the crowds or chaos of a typical nightlife venue.

Guests will enjoy:
🎶 High-energy music by DJ French Kiss
🍗 Tailgate-style food stations
🍹 Two signature cocktails included
🥃 Access to the Lion’s Den Cigar Bus

Lady Woo, DJ with V-94.9, will serve as emcee and host of Classic Cocktails.  This  party is a party with purpose, a celebration that gives back to the community while honoring the spirit of the Magic City Classic. The event offers a fun way to celebrate the annual football clash between Alabama A&M University and Alabama State University.

🎓 Where HBCU Pride Meets Purpose

The Magic City Classic draws more than 120,000 people to Legion Field each year (70,000 in the stadium, 50,000 tailgating outside), a celebration of HBCU excellence, culture, and unity. Inside the Central Library, the lights will glow in maroon and white (Alabama A&M) and black and gold (Alabama State) as Classic Cocktails transforms the space into a vibrant tribute to both schools’ legacies.

Behind the music and fun is a mission: to help our library serve patrons of all ages, providing valuable free services such as access to Wi-Fi, public computers, line dance and chair aerobics, classes, and more.

❤️ One Night. Endless Impact.

Classic Cocktails isn’t just a party, it’s a movement. It’s where celebration meets service, where culture meets community, and where your night out becomes an investment in Birmingham’s future.

So grab your crew, raise a glass, and join us for an unforgettable kickoff to Classic Week,  one that’s as safe, classy, and meaningful as it is fun.
