Woodlawn Branch Library Hosting Business & Career Strategies for Students on Wednesday, February 28
Birmingham Ala. - Hey middle to high school students in Birmingham, need help deciding on your career goals? Then drop by Woodlawn Branch Library from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, for a free Business & Career Strategies for Students program.
The event for middle and high school students is a part of Woodlawn Branch's new Student Exposure Initiative: Business & Career Strategies for Students.
During Student Exposure Initiative: Business & Career Strategies for Students, a panel of local business professionals led by James Matthews will expose students to business and career concepts and provide practical training to set young people up for success as they prepare to begin their careers. The theme of Wednesday's event is "Teamwork—How Working With Others Impacts Your Success".
This is the second event in a series of sessions for teens, said Zachary Lukemire, a Librarian II at Woodlawn Branch. The first event was held in December 2023.
"A panel will be here at the library in our meeting room to speak to high school students," Lukemire said. "The panel is made up of local business professionals, led by James Matthews. They coach the students on a number of topics, including professionalism, building your brand, ethics, and other issues relevant to succeeding in the workplace."
