Celebrate Black History Month with Free Movie Screenings at BPL All February Long

 


Celebrate Black History Month with free movie screenings at the Birmingham Public Library all February long. 

The movies include a showing of "The Color Purple" on February 17 at Five Points West Regional Library, a "Black Girls and Women in Magic and Fantasies" movie every Thursday in February at East Ensley Branch Library, and Black History-inspired movies every Wednesday at Smithfield Library.

East Ensley Library, 900 14th Street Ensley, is hosting a movie screening every Thursday of February at 3:00 p.m. to highlight Black Girls and Women in magic and fantasies.

 The series started last Thursday with a showing of the 1997 film "Cinderella" followed by a showing on Thursday, February 8 of "The Princess and the Frog." 

The remaining Black Girl Magic movies (all at 3:00 p.m.) are as follows: 

February 15 - Wrinkles in Time 

February 22 - Black Panther: Wakanda Forever 

February 29 - The Little Mermaid (2023)
