6 Employment Opportunities Currently Open At The Birmingham Public Library

The Birmingham Public Library (BPL) has 6 open employment opportunities! Full-time and part-time positions are available in a variety of roles. 

You may think that anyone who works behind a desk at a library is a librarian, but not every public service worker has a Master of Library Science (MLS) degree!

Typically, you must have an MLS degree to hold the official title of a Librarian; so, that means there are many paraprofessional titles serving in the library, like the Library Assistant positions open at the BPL.

• Library Assistant Ⅲ, Public Services—Part Time (2 Positions, Closes 01/18/24) 
• Security Officer, Part Time (2 Positions, Closes 01/18/24)

Applicants who do not currently work in the local library system must register and apply through the Alabama Career Center-Birmingham (3216 4th Ave S, 35222). The Birmingham Comprehensive Career Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Check the Alabama official state holiday calendar to see what days the Birmingham Career Center is closed.
