The Birmingham Public Library is celebrating International Beer Day with a special Bards & Brews virtual event at 6:00 p.m. this Friday, August 7.
It’s a natural fit as BPL is now celebrating a decade of hosting the popular monthly spoken word poetry/craft beer event. Beer lovers are invited to join us from the comfort of their homes and elsewhere via smartphones, laptops and other electronic devices as some of metro Birmingham’s most talented poets show off their talent on the Bards & Brews Facebook page.
Spots are running out so poets desiring to participate need to email BPL Outreach Librarian Candice Hardy as soon as possible at bards.brews@cobpl.org.
The purpose of International Beer Day is threefold:
• To gather with friends and enjoy the deliciousness that is beer.
• To celebrate the dedicated men and women who brew and serve our beer.
• To bring the world together by celebrating the beers of all nations and cultures on this one remarkable day.
Raise your glass to celebrate the heroes behind each tasty brew. Cheers and Happy International Beer Day! For more information click here http://internationalbeerday.com
