BPL Genealogy Programs Underway as Part of 2021 Summer Learning

The Birmingham Public Library's Southern History Department has several free virtual genealogy programs underway as part of  2021 BPL Summer Learning.

The genealogy series kicked off on Tuesday, June 8, with the popular Intro to Genealogy workshop. That program covers such topics as how to begin researching your family tree using vital records, courthouse documents the Federal Census, and other materials.

The other programs, all offered viz Zoom, are as follows:

 Researching Your House History, July 8, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. 

 Presented by the Library's Archives Department, this workshop will introduce viewers to resources at the Birmingham Public Library that can tell you when your house was built, who has lived there over time, and more.
