Get free tax prep assistance at the Birmingham Public Library (BPL)! The BPL is offering free tax filing assistance for patrons at  branch libraries through AARP and SaveFirst, a program from the nonprofit Impact America.  

All you have to do is make an appointment—except for Five Points West Regional Branch Library where no appointment is necessary!

  • Free Tax Return Preparation for You by VolunteersThe Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $56,000.00 or less, disabled, and limited English-speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.
