Birmingham Public Library to Host “Start My Business” Beginning in May, A Free Five Session Virtual Program for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Details: Start My Business is a free five-session program presented virtually on Zoom. Hosted by the Birmingham Public Library, the program covers all the essentials to help you structure your new business for long term success. Program presenters are representatives from Centro Community Partners, a non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating access to entrepreneurship training and business advisory services.

 If you have been thinking about starting your own business, then you won’t want to miss this online learning opportunity from the Birmingham Public Library (BPL) that kicks off in May. “Start My Business” is a five-session program created and presented by Centro Community Partners (Centro), an Oakland, CA based non-profit organization that has been providing entrepreneurial education and support throughout the United States since 2010. Best of all, Centro’s programs are offered free of charge to all participants!

What We Will Be Taught 

· The first steps to building a foundation as a new entrepreneur. 

· How to create a sustainable business model that will serve to assess your business idea.

· How to identify your customer type

· How to create high-quality products and services 

· Ways to examine revenue potential to ensure profitability.

· How to craft a business plan 

Who Can Benefit? 

· The program is for anyone who wants to understand the basics of starting a business and what it takes to become a successful entrepreneur. 

· No business experience is required. The program is taught at a fundamental level and is a good starting point for anyone who wants to become a small business owner. 

Basic Requirements 

· You must be 18 years or older. If you are under 18, you can join the program with an accompanying adult. 

· Demonstrate a genuine commitment to starting or growing a business. 

· An aspiration to seek profit and provide social benefit to your community.

· The program is open to everyone, regardless of education level or experience.
