The Dannon Project, BPL to Host Citywide Resource Fair on June 2 at the Central Library



The Dannon Project and the Birmingham Public Library (BPL) are excited to announce their continuing partnership to provide life-restoring resources and the highest-quality experience of life to the Birmingham community!

The Citywide Resource Fair will take place at downtown’s Central Library from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2. It is free to the public. 

This annual event offers library patrons and the general public a chance to gather information about resources, services, and opportunities available to them through community-based organizations. There will also be door prizes, complementary food, and giveaways!

Home renovation, housing, legal, senior, and transportation assistance are all categories that will be addressed at the Citywide Resource Fair.

Organizations such as Alabama Regional Medical Services and Callahan Eye Hospital will administer health screenings and eye exams. 

Local businesses such as Altec IndustriesAmerican Family CareBrasfield & GorrieHonda Manufacturing, and several divisions of the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB) will be present at the fair to recruit prospective employees.

For anyone interested in registering to vote, the League of Women Voters will complete the process for you.

There will be a Mobile Photo ID Unit to generate free voter ID cards on site. Please be sure to bring the following documents with you in order to obtain a voter ID card.


Organizations that deal with early addiction prevention, addiction, and domestic violence will figure among the participants in the fair as well.

Looking for ways to get more involved in your local community? Learn about volunteer opportunities with Children’s of Alabama, the Greater Birmingham Humane SocietyRuffner Mountain Nature Preserve, and TAKE Peer Group

 Last but not least, Community Kitchens and the UAB Mobile Market are slated to prepare complementary lunches and cost-effective snacks for guests.
