Although the Birmingham Public Library's 256 Summer Reading programs have ended, BPL has several fun and educational programming happening right now.

Among them: Avondale Regional Library's Club Create, a weekly arts and crafts workshop for adults. At 2:00 p.m. this Wednesday, August 7, Avondale Library's Club Create participants will be tinting black and white scenes with watercolors.

Avondale Regional Library also has weekly Grab & Go kits for adults. This week, Avondale's Constellation Cube Grab & Go for Grown-Ups kit will bring the stars to you. Cut, fold, and assemble the cube and punch out holes for the constellations with a push pin. Add your own battery-powered tealight, and gaze at the stars!

The kit includes a "Stars & Stories" bookmark with QR codes to take to take you to information about the featured constellations. Kits are available while supplies last.

For more information about this and other programs for patrons of all ages - from kids to seniors - drop by Avondale Regional Library, 509 40th Street South, or call (205) 226-4000.
