West End Library Fall 2024 Spotlight: Crochet, Chair Aerobics, Chess for Kids


 


Chess for Kids and West End Crocheters among weekly classes offered at West End Branch this fall.

The Birmingham Public Library PR department is spotlighting monthly programs available this fall at our library locations across the city as students return to school. 


West End Branch Library has lots of free fun programs for patrons of all ages this fall, including weekly crochet and chair aerobics classes for adults and chess lessons for kids.

Students work on a rock painting craft after school at West End Branch.

Mondays at 3:00 p.m.: WE Craft 

- Have fun making an after-school craft with your friends. 

Seniors paint during West End Branch Talk With a Doc program. 


Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.: Senior Claws

 – Enjoy a fun time with West End seniors. Learn a new skill, play a game, paint a picture on canvas, and much more. 

Mrs. Brown and Ms. Black make baby hats at West End Crocheters class.

Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m.: West End Crocheters 

- Learn to crochet or work on a project of your own. Snacks are included. 

Mary Webb leads Chair Aerobics class at West End  Branch


Thursdays at 10:00 a.m.:   Mary’s Chair Aerobics

 - Improve your fitness level with fun, free, weekly workouts. 

New South Coalition are leading chess lessons for kids again this fall at West End  Branch.
Thursdays at 3:00 p.m. Chess for Kids 

- Learn to play chess with the New South Coalition. 

Fridays at 3:00 p.m. Friday Movie Matinee
 
– Enjoy a movie and a snack.
