She is among 32 authors from across Alabama at the expo, happening from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Central Library in downtown Birmingham, 2100 Park Place. This year's theme is "AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Publishing."

Faulkner says she earned the moniker of being "an amazing storyteller" through her jobs as a staff writer for the Birmingham News Human Interest section, a senior producer for Creflo Dollar Ministries, Senior Producer and Marketing Manager for In Touch Ministries with Charles Stanley, and Producer for WTTO TV in Birmingham.

In her devotional, Minutes with the Master, Lisa sets the stage and shares some of the deeply personal stories and real-life revelations that have guided her to an intimate relationship with God and an impactful career and ministry.

An Ordained Minister and the Principal Consultant for PenStar Communications, LLC, Faulkner shares more about her book in a Q&A with BPL.

BPL: Tell me about your book.

Faulkner: It is a devotional that serves as a testimonial to pivotal times in life when we all know God has stepped in and changed the direction or course of our lives or perhaps He has saved us from dire situations. The testimonies and devotionals also show the impact our cultural and familial dynamics have on shaping our lives.

The 21 devotionals will remind readers of their purpose and lead them into a deeper relationship with God. It is a devotional and journal in one that ends each chapter with thought-provoking questions to ignite personal transformation.

BPL: What inspired you to write your book?

Faulkner: My relationship with God, of course, and His undeniable handiwork on my life since a child. I call it a relentless pursuit for me, and there are even times I should have and could have easily died if it were not for the providential covering and miracle of God’s protection over me.

BPL: What do you hope readers get out of your book?

Faulkner: I hope readers come to know and start to experience a real and active life with God because we serve a real, all sustaining God available to us now!

BPL: Any advice you would give for new authors or those desiring to become authors?

Faulkner: I would advise them all to write in season and out of season but to write whenever they are inspired to. And to keep it collectively in a notebook or journal or log or someplace they continually go back and add to it because one day it can and will become their book!
