The Birmingham Public Library (BPL) continues to offer
engaging programs that go far beyond books. With 18 locations across the city,
there’s always something happening to help patrons learn, create, and connect.
Each week, BPL hosts activities that reflect our mission to
provide the highest quality experiences in lifelong learning, cultural
enrichment, and community enjoyment. This week’s Beyond Books spotlight
features everything from free health consultations and craft workshops to a nutrition
class and a book discussion with acclaimed author Jim Douglass.

Be Kind Birmingham – Free-to-Shop Store
Shop for clothes, shoes, and more (all for free) at the Be Kind Birmingham
community store at West End Branch. West End Outreach (Zion Church) will also be at the event, giving away diapers, detergent, and paper products.
A.R.M.S. (Active Recreation for Mental Strength)
Join this monthly wellness program to engage in guided health-promoting
activities in a supportive, semi-structured environment.
(Held every 2nd Wednesday through December.)

Join author Jim Douglass as he discusses his groundbreaking new book, Martyrs
to the Unspeakable: The Assassinations of JFK, Malcolm, Martin, and RFK.
The talk will be followed by a Q&A and book signing. Copies will be
available for purchase.
