Any good leader knows that the success of an organization is not his or hers to claim solely, but is also the team’s whose fulfillments and contributions propelled the success of the vision. Having said that, team members at North Birmingham and Inglenook Libraries epitomize the effectiveness of a good team and are testaments to the level of success that can be achieved with one.

Because of the awesomeness of this team and their contributions to the success of these libraries, I felt compelled to honor and recognize all their hard work by creating an “Employee of the Month Program.”

Pamela Gordon was chosen for the month of April to be North Birmingham and Inglenook Libraries’ Employee of the Month. Pamela is a Library Assistant III for both libraries and has undertaken many projects to restore the prominence of both libraries in their respective communities.

One of many ways that she has supported this endeavor is by plunging forward to become the lead administrator for North Birmingham and Inglenook  Libraries’ Facebook Pages. In this role, Pamela continuously increases the presence of both libraries on Facebook by strategically boosting viewer engagement and interaction.

Pamela’s programming expertise has also proven to be essential in establishing and implementing program goals for both libraries. She does not hesitate to pull from her years of experience in children’s programming, library programming trends, and specific community dynamics to create programs tailored to the communities that each library serve.

Additionally, her programming views are weighted, respected and often adhered to. Pamela has made it her goal to support and contribute to the vision of both libraries while ensuring that patrons are provided with the best services that are available to offer.

We, patrons and staff alike, are happy to have her on our team.
