Titusville Library Offering Free Diapers, Groceries on Thursday, December 2

Titusville Branch Library  is taking its monthly community food giveaway program to the next level to better serve patrons who live in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Beginning this Thursday, December 2, Titusville Library has joined forces with the UAB community project CHEER (Community Health through Engagement and Environmental  Renewal).

CHEER is a part of the University of Alabama Birmingham's Center for the Study of Community Health, which aims to help reduce health risks in underserved communities.

Also at 10:00 a.m. this Thursday, Titusville Library has partnered with Bundles of Hope Diaper Bank of Birmingham to provide free diapers for parents in the Titusville community. Those in need can come take advantage of this gift of diapers while supplies last.

Titusville Library Branch Manager Reba Williams said both programs are great fits with the library's partnership with the Community Care Development Network (Food Hub #5), which since October has provided food monthly at the Titusville Library for families, the elderly, and others who have lost jobs due to the pandemic.

You must register in advance to participate.  If the library has reached capacity for the boxes of groceries being giveaway this Thursday, December 2, you can register for future giveaways. Titusville Library offers this community food giveaway program on the first Thursday every month.

In addition to the diaper and food giveaway, Titusville Library is hosting the Titusville Neighborhood Holiday Celebration this Thursday at 4:00 p.m. and participating in the annual Titusville Library Holiday Parade. The public is welcome.

If you know someone struggling financially or a family that could use a little help with food, diapers and other needs, please spread the word and tell them about Titusville Library's new partnerships to give back to our community.
