In its 15th year, Bards & Brews is one of BPL's most popular programs, and has built a reputation for unifying metro Birmingham's arts community, especially the spoken word scene. Bards is held on the first Friday night of every month, with most poetry events happening at the Central Library downtown. Bards poetry slams in which poets compete for $350 are held three times a year - with the first held last month.
