Every Day Is Halloween At North Birmingham Regional Branch Library This October 2022

October is right around the corner, which means we're getting closer and closer to my favorite holiday—Halloween! North Birmingham Regional Branch Library has a variety of Halloween-themed activities scheduled for patrons of all ages.

We'll have games, crafts, spooky storytime, and even an interactive murder mystery. Come celebrate with us all month long!

Monday, October 3

Mexican Papel Picado Grab & Go Craft

Available all day during business hours while supplies last 

Papel picado is a traditonal Mexican craft where intriciate designs are cut into tissue paper and used as celebratory decorations. Grab a kit with a skull template and create papel picado to serve double duty for Halloween and Day of the Dead!

Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Available until Monday, October 31 | From 9:00 a.m.—6:00 p.m.

Search the youth department for spooky clues in this Halloween-themed scavenger hunt. 

Adventures in Storyland with Miss Pamela: Spooky Kooky Tales 

Starts at 10:00 a.m.

Join Miss Pamela for a story adventure with silly spooky stories, songs, and a craft celebrating Halloween.

Art Attack: Sugar Skulls

Starts at 4:00 p.m.

Learn more about Dia de los Muertos and paint sugar skulls.

Friday, October 14

Ghost Story Mad Libs

Available until Friday, October 21 | From 9:00 a.m.—6:00 p.m.

Flex your vocabulary skills and creative muscles while playing a Halloween-themed game of Mad Libs.

Silly Pumpkin Grab & Go Craft

Available all day during business hours while supplies last 

Get ready for fall with this fun pumpkin craft. 

Horror Movie Book Bundles 

Available until Monday, October 31 | From 9:00 a.m.—6:00 p.m.

Choose a movie/book bundle with your favorite horror movie while being introduced to a similar book or graphic novel of the same genre.

Mystery at the Library 

Available until Thursday, October 27 | From 9:00 a.m.—6:00 p.m.

There's a murder mystery at North Birmingham Library! Those who successfully solve the case by carefully examining the crime scene will win a prize! Winners will be notified on Monday, October 31.

Candy Corn Grab & Go Craft

Available all day during business hours while supplies last 

Get a tick-or-treating head start by making this candy corn craft.

Eatable Creations: Spooky Kooky Cookies
