West End Library Crocheters Donate 73 Baby Hats to Grandview Medical Center NICU

West End Branch Manager Lynn Hutchins gives Grandview Medical Center representatives the 73 newborn baby crochet hats given to the hospital's NICU unit. The hats were made by members of the West End Crocheters Group that meets regularly at West End Library.

Birmingham, Ala. - The West End Crocheters have been busy at West End Branch Library.

The group of women, who meet every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until noon at West End Branch, 1348 Tuscaloosa Avenue SW, recently completed a preemie and newborn baby hat project, making 73 crocheted hats during the winter months. Their goal was to finish them all by Valentine’s Day.

After making sure everyone had time to bring their hats to the library, Branch Manager Lynn Hutchins scheduled a time to deliver them to Grandview Medical Center NICU. This week, on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, Ms. Hutchins carried the box of baby hats to the Birmingham hospital and presented them to Grandview Marketing Director Leisha Harris and the NICU nurses.

Ms. Harris said, “Thank you for thinking of Grandview. We are pleased to accept these hats.”
