Participate in Drum Circles at Get Rhythm's Performances This Week at the Birmingham Public Library
Birmingham, Ala. - Last week, the Birmingham Public Library's 2024 Summer Reading featured a special African drumming performance at the Central Library by Barry Johnson in celebration of Juneteenth.
This week, you can gain more knowledge about the art of drumming at five other BPL locations.
Get Rhythm: Just Imagine A World Full of Music! features internationally known drumming facilitator John Scalici, founder of Get Rhythm.
Events kicked off with performances last week (June 18) at Avondale Regional Library, and continued yesterday, June 24, as Scalici led drumming circles at North Birmingham Regional and East Ensley libraries.

During Get Rhythm: Just Imagine a World Full of Music, Scalici presents drum circle fun. No musical experience is necessary to participate.
