Adventure Begins At Inglenook Branch Library: Summer Reading 2024 Spotlight

Inglenook Library staff member reads a book to two young patrons.

The Inglenook Branch Library encouraged reading this summer as a part of Adventure Begings at Your Library. 20 of their young patrons participated in the challenge to read books, tell the staff what they learned, and win prizes. They incentivized reading with daily giveaways and chances to win the periodic raffle drawings.

If you haven't registered for Summer Reading, there is still time to register to win prizes! Stop by any Birmingham Public Library (BPL) location to register until the end of July.

Children and adults should read all the time. I heard of this place called The Literacy Council where adults can’t read and they can get tutor and learn how to read better. I heard of the place from Jefferson State Community College when I was trying to get my G.E.D. I’ve went 2013-2018 branched out because I was working and started working on my high school diploma. While children are out of school for the summer they should participate in the reading program. Adults who’s not working or some retired should do the reading program.
