Dozens Take Advantage of Free Health and Wellness Checkups, Voter Registration Drive at Central Library

Dozens of patrons gathered information on how to register to vote and took advantage of free health services such as blood pressure checks and diabetes screening at the Central Library on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, as The Dannon Project and the Birmingham Public Library partnered to host a Fall Fest Health Fair & Voter Registration Drive.

One Roof’s mission is to empower the community to prevent and end
homelessness through advocacy, education, and coordination of services
Vendors included the following: One RoofCargus EyecareDannon Training InstituteCahaba Valley Healthcare (dental), Veteran AffairsSusan B. Komen FoundationCrisis Center,  Olli-University Alabama, Gene Testing, AIM Medical, Jefferson Co. Youth Affairs Committee Voter Registration, AIDS Alabama, and Regions Bank.

Registering to vote
The Dannon Project, a Birmingham-based nonprofit, envisions a community where returning citizens and at-risk youth have the tools and support needed to become law-abiding productive citizens who participate in building healthy and safe communities. The agency provides supportive services that include short-term training, certifications, job placement, and re-entry case management services to repair, restore, and renew the lives of our participants.
