We've got SPIRIT, Yes we do,

We've got SPIRIT, How about YOU!

Celebrate National Library Week at Springville Road Regional Branch Library Monday, April 4—Friday, April 8!

We are getting into the SPIRIT by dressing up each day and offering a variety of programming throughout the week. When you stop by, don't forget to fill out your "I Love My Library Because..." heart that will be displayed on our bulletin board in the lobby. We will also be handing out "I Love My Library" keychains to the first 100 people each day.

National Library Week is a week to celebrate the role of libraries and librarians and the impact they have on their community through the services they provide. National Library Week began in 1958.

Monday, April 4: We will be wearing our favorite cardigan! (Psst...librarians LOVE cardigans). We will also be handing out our new I Love My Library keychains to the first 100 people!

Children: Children will be able to visit our very own Dino-brarian! They can talk with our dinosaur-librarian and take pictures from 3:00—5:00 p.m. We will also be handing out art supplies for our Tiny Art Show.

Calling all artists 12 and under! We are having a Tiny Art Show! Starting Monday, April 4, children 12 and under can pick up their own Tiny Art Kit. Stop by the Youth Department to pick up your Tiny Art Kit until Friday, April 15, or while supplies last. Included in the kit are a tiny canvas, paintbrush, paint, and color mixing chart. Feel free to use paint that you have at home. Mixed media is allowed as long as it fits on the canvas.

Return your masterpiece back to the library by Monday, April 25. Late entries are not accepted. Stop by the library beginning Monday, May 2, to see your art piece on display in our lobby.

Adults: Adults can pick up a Murder @ the Library Mystery Packet.  Try to solve the murder if you dare. Guesses of whodunit have to be in by Friday, April 8. Don't forget to fill out your "I Love My Library" heart so that we can put it on our bulletin board.

Tuesday, April 5: We will be dressing "like a librarian"! Dress up as your favorite librarian or a librarian in general. We will also be handing out new I Love My Library keychains to the first 100 people!

Children: The children can "Be a Librarian for a Day." They will learn about some of the tasks that a librarian does and will try their hand at it.

Adults: Adults, if you are struggling with your murder mystery packet, stop by the library and pick up a clue.

Wednesday, April 6: We will honor ROY G. BIV. What does that mean? Pick a color of the rainbow and dress up in that color! We will also be handing out new I Love My Library keychains to the first 100 people!

Children: Children can submit their very own bookmark design. The winning design will actually be made into a bookmark that will be passed out this summer!

Adults: A clue! A clue! Adults struggling with the Murder Mystery packet can come into the library for a clue or they can take a guess!

Thursday, April 7: We will celebrate our favorite book character! Join us in dressing up as your favorite book character. We will also be handing out our new I Love My Library keychains to the first 100 people!

Children: Children will take turns with our Library Mini-Gold course! This will be an all-ages event all day long.

Adults: Adults, come on down to the library, there are clues waiting for you for your Murder Mystery packet, or take a guess.

Friday, April 8: Show your love for the library on Friday by wearing the color RED and your goofiest socks. We will also be handing out our new I Love My Library keychains to the first 100 people!

Children: Calling all children to participate in our obstacle course! Can you make it through the course?

Adults: Adults! This is your last chance to solve a murder. Guess who you think is guilty. Last chance to solve the crime before it goes cold.
