Experience The Flavors Of Alabama, Italy, Kenya, And New Orleans This Thursday At The Birmingham Public Library

A cartoon food truck is open for business on the flyer of the BPL's Food Truck Summer Roundup.
After the illustrious World Games honored the Magic City with eleven days of excitement—ending with an explosion of farewell fireworks at Protective Stadium on Sunday night—downtown's streets have reopened. Now that roads are again navigable, the Birmingham Public Library (BPL) is excited to announce the resumption of its weekly Summer Food Truck Roundup. Please join us at the Central Library this Thursday, July 21, for street cuisine from Italy, Nairobi, New Orleans, and our very own Alabama.

People are lined up outside of the Sahani True Nairobi Cuisine. The truck is mostly black with a bright city scene painted along the side.

Featured street food will include unique Kenyan dishes from Sahani True Nairobi Cuisine, Southern-style BBQ pork from Smoke on Wheels Grille, and authentic New Orleans eats from Who Dat Snoballs & Food.

To assuage a sweet tooth, indulge in an Italian treat provided by Repicci's Italian Ice & Gelato

A small white van has illustrations of people eating frozen desserts. Writing on the van says "Italian Ice, Gelato, Sorbetto"

If you happen to be out and about early Thursday morning, stop by for gourmet coffee and tea offered by Travelin' Tom's Coffee Truck. Tom's will be on our lot from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m.

While you're at the Central Library, be sure to check out the BPL's new Local Authors Collection in the Grand Reading Room. This collection is located near other titles that routinely find a home on the first floor, including recently published and popular works of fiction, nonfiction, and biography for children, teens, and adults.

We invite you to reserve this Thursday for a visit to the Birmingham Public Library. We look forward to seeing you!
