The Bully Proof Vest addresses bullying, a serious problem in schools across the country. Studies show that over 160,000 children a day stay home from school because of it. While there are various opinions on how to prevent it, author and poet, Cedric L. Threatt, offers a lighthearted solution. The book was written to show children that they are never alone and to help them realize their value and feel more confident.

Black Like Me: A Celebration of Daily Black History was written to showcase a positive image of black people. Threatt says in every community across America, you can find black people who are doing extraordinary things and deserve to be celebrated.
“This book serves as a reminder to young people everywhere that they do not have to look to celebrities or famous people to find positive role models they can look up to and be proud of,” Threatt said. “They’re among them every single day. Some of them may even be in their own home.”
