Celebrate Women's History Month throughout March with the Birmingham Public Library (BPL)! We are offering a variety of programs at several BPL locations as well as informative and engaging displays.
This year's theme is "Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories." Here are programs that the BPL is offering for Women's History Month 2023!

Winter Music Series: Westwood Irish Dance

Please join us at the Central Library to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and Woman's History Month with a performance by the young ladies from Westwood Irish Dance. 12 Months to Being Your Own CEO: A Woman's Place is CEO

Interested in starting your own business? Take the next stop to realizing your entrepreneurial dreams by attending these classes taught by local Birmingham attorney Neena Speer. The North Birmingham Library will host a talk on the history of women's involvement in the Civil Rights Movement. Guest lecturer Charles Wood Ⅲ of the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute will lead this discussion.
Women With Voices

In celebration of Women's History Month, the women of North Birmingham Regional Branch Library will use their voices with poetry and song to uplift, inspire, and celebrate the strength, courage, and fortitude of all women and the impact that they have had and continue to have on the world.

The Mommy's Lounge Inspires Mom Support Group meets on the second and third Tuesday of each month. This group provides high quality advice for single moms in a judgement free zone that allows moms to connect with each other.

Visit the library to find out how you can get resources, such as diapers, toiletries, school supplies, and clothes. Requirements are a valid photo ID, birth certificate for each child, and the recipient must be a single mother.
