Join Southside Library for "Ask a Gardener" Community Seedling Exchange on April 1
Want to take your gardening skills to the next level?
Come to the Southside Branch Public Library, 1814 11th Ave. South, this Saturday, April 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for a Community Seedling Exchange. This free event, which welcome Earth Month, is in partnership with the Glen Iris Neighborhood Association, along with supporters from the Five Points South Neighborhood Association, the Birmingham Earth Coalition, the Alabama Master Gardeners Association.
This will be a wonderful opportunity for persons who are new plant parents as well as seasoned plant parents to learn from Master Gardeners ways to prepare, plant, and maintain their gardens, inside and out.
Seedlings will be given away and seed packets will be available to “check out” from the Southside Branch’s Seed Library. There will even be surprise giveaways.
According to Rob Burton, president of the Glen Iris Neighborhood Association, this event will include poets to kick off National Poetry Month, voter registration, along with gardening support and demonstrations.
Let’s jumpstart those gardens. Gather the tips you need to the be the “Best Plant Parent in the World”!

This is a great way to get an early celebration in of Earth Day 2023, which this year is Saturday, April 22!
