This is Southside Branch Library's All Together Now Summer Reading Spotlight! 

They are offering several Grab 'N Go activities that the whole family can enjoy at their own leisure. Southside Library's main focus is on Youth Programs, and they offering a variety of programs exploring creative expression and celebrating friendship. 

All Ages Programs

Feed The Birds 
Monday, July 24–Friday, July 28 | During business hours

Here's a fun way to get the family together to engage in bird watching—build a bird feeder. This Grab 'N Go activity is also a great way to care about our feathered friends. Keep a journal of the birds you see and you'll learn more about them.

Youth Programs

Dance Discovery
Tuesday, June 27 | Starts at 10:00 a.m.

The Alabama Ballet provides a look inside the daily life of a professional ballet dancer, from the ballet technique to costumes and pointe shoes. The audience will enjoy participating in fun exercises that challenge coordination. The program concludes with a performance by Alabama Ballet Company dancers.

We Are Family
Monday, June 12–Friday, June 16 | During business hours

This Grab 'N Go kit is a fun activity that enables the family to celebrate their unit. Family can work together to create a picture frames for family photos. These frames (with a photo and/or special message) can be given as a gift to celebrate Father's Day. 

Is It Growing Yet?
Monday, July 3–Friday, July 7 | During business hours

Kids, as well as adults, will be in awe as they watch their seeds grow into plants. Drop by to pick up this Grab 'N Go to take home. As the plant grows bigger, it might just produce food for your dinner table! This adventure encourages family involvement.

Color Your Summer Reading Tote
Thursday, June 8 | Starts at 10:00 a.m.

Let your imagination go crazy and customize your very own tote bag. You will a walk away with a bag to use for every occasion, even to visit your library! 

You Matter!
Tuesday, June 13 | Starts at 10:00 a.m.

Join the Science Lady for an exciting and engaging exploration of the states of matter! This fizzing, bubbling, exploding show will be full of cool chemical reactions. All together now for some simple science fun! 

McWane Science Center Partners in Science 
Thursday, June 22 | Starts at 10:00 a.m.

Science needs a lot of people working together to tackle everything from fighting pandemics to operating a space station. See how scientists have solved these problems with a little help from their friends. 

Friendship Rocks
Monday, July 10–Friday, July 14 | During business hours

Have fun painting rocks and sharing them with friends. Once you pick up this Grab 'N Go Kit, you can decorate rocks that look like you and your friends. Friends Forever!

Friends Forever Bracelets
Tuesday, July 18 | Starts at 10:00 a.m.

What better way to celebrate friendships, family, community, all forms of relationships being ALL TOGETHER NOW, than to create friendship bracelets. They're easy to make. You'll want to make several to share with others or stack on your wrists. 

As a part of All Together Now, celebrating unity and kindness, signing up for summer reading this year also comes with up to $50.00 in overdue fines waived from your account! You can redeem this one-time amnesty throughout the summer reading schedule. Stop by any BPL library to register and receive the amnesty.
