BPL 2023 Summer Reading Spotlight: Inglenook Branch Library

All Together Now is underway at the Birmingham Public Library (BPL)! One of today's summer reading highlights is on Inglenook Branch Library. 

Library Assistant Ⅲ Matt Guerdat shared an upcoming, exciting program happening at the Inglenook Library: The Reptile Hangout for all ages! Programs like these are a part of the nearly 250 programs that the BPL is offering for Summer Reading: All Together Now.

Reptile Hangout
Thursday, June 15 | Starts at 10:00 a.m.

Join Inglenook staff for Reptile Hangout, featuring Hippy, a live adult ball python! Learn more about snakes and find out what is involved in owning and caring for one as a pet.

All the library's Pokémon inspired friends got scared, and now they're hiding throughout the library! Can you use the clues to find all of them?

Balloon-Powered Car
Tuesday, June 13 | Starts at 10:00 a.m.

Create a balloon-powered car and watch the balloon deflate and the car zoom away. Open to ages 8–12. 

Superheroes Craft Time
Thursdays, July 20 | Starts at 3:00 p.m.

Decorate a superhero cape and take pictures with a superhero mask. Open to ages 8–12.

Teens Programs

Festive 4th Gnomes
Tuesday, June 27 | Starts at 11:00 a.m.

Paint a 4th of July themed gnome. 

Superhero Movie Matinee
Thursdays, July 13 and 27 | Starts at 3:00 p.m.

Beat the heat with two of our favorite superhero movies. Open to ages 11+.

As a part of All Together Now, celebrating unity and kindness, signing up for summer reading this year also comes with up to $50.00 in overdue fines waived from your account! You can redeem this one-time amnesty throughout the summer reading schedule. Stop by any BPL library to register and receive the amnesty.
