BPL, UAB TRIO Educational Opportunity Center Hosting Citywide Resource & Career Fair at Central Library on June 3

The Birmingham Public Library (BPL) and the TRIO Educational Opportunity Center at UAB (TRIO EOC) are excited to announce the Citywide Resource & Career Fair on Saturday, June 3, 2023. This biannual event is scheduled to take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the first floor of downtown's Central Library. It is free and open to the public!

A primary focus of the Citywide Resource & Career Fair will be on employment and career opportunities. This is the first of two Citywide Resource Fairs that BPL will host this year.

According to Rico Drakes, Director of UAB's TRIO EOC: "Spring is here and employers are hiring! This event will give attendees an opportunity to explore a wide range of employment resources and opportunities. If you are in need of employment, join us on June 3rd for this amazing event."

The fair is also an excellent chance to gather information about opportunities, resources, and services available through local nonprofit organizations. Representatives will be on hand to answer questions about education opportunities, environmental issues, financial literacy, food and housing assistance, health insurance, legal assistance, mental health, services for older adults, substance abuse, volunteer opportunities, and more.

The Citywide Resource & Career Fair will feature free health screenings, arts and crafts, and complimentary snacks. Door prizes and giveaways will be offered to attendees as well!
