The James Lewis Education and Tennis Foundation (JLTSFI) was formed to provide scholarships to junior tennis players; support educational and character development programs; and support overall tennis play and tennis skills development. It was established on February 14, 1995.

The founders of JLTSFI, former students of James Lewis, know from experience the positive impact of his work and hope to expand the resources available to the youth of Jefferson County. The chess tournament the organization is sponsoring at Titusville Library is its latest effort to provide a positive impact on youth in Birmingham.

The James Lewis Education and Tennis Foundation has been a big part of the Titusville and Ensley communities for decades, providing tennis and educational outlets for the youth.
