Adventure Begins at North Avondale Branch Library: 2024 Summer Reading Spotlight

 


2024 Summer Reading continues at the Birmingham Public Library. 16 BPL locations across the city are hosting 256 combined Summer Reading programs for kids, teens, adults and senior citizens during June and July. The 2024 theme is "Adventure Begins at Your Library." 


BPL is spotlighting each of our library's programs this summer. Today's spotlight is on North Avondale Branch Library. North Avondale Branch is hosting seven programs, one for all ages (a paint party) and six for youth including a few that have already happened.

Here a few programs recommended by North Avondale Branch Manager Charlie Bodiford:

* "Paint Party" (All Ages), 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, and Wednesday, July 24 

Patrons of all ages are invited to join us for an afternoon of creative fun. Paint along with a guide or strike out on your own and let your imagination lead the way! 

* Coding Club, (Youth), 3:00 p.m. on Mondays in June and July (June 24, July 1, July 8, July 15, July 22, July 29)

Join our weekly coding sessions and learn how to make apps, video games, and more!! 

 * How to Catch a Garden Fairy (Youth), Tuesday, July 9 at 3:00 p.m.

Don’t let the fairy get away! Set off on a whirlwind adventure through a larger-than-life garden, and laugh along as the Garden Fairy dodges ridiculous STEAM traps and hilarious plans. Then, learn about simple machines and use what you’ve learned to build your own fairy trap.
