The North Avondale Library's Chapter Chatters Book Club has been meeting since February 2011. The group started out small but has grown into a group of 16. Interest continues to mount as more and more patrons inquire about the group, which meets the last Wednesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. It's inspiring to know that dedicated book club members travel from all areas of Jefferson County to attend the monthly meetings. The book club is open to anyone with an interest in reading.

Some of the titles we have discussed have included: Desert Flower by Waris Dirie, The Help by Kathryn Stockett, Finding Martha’s Place by Martha Hawkins, and several books by Vanessa Miller. The book club is currently reading The Secret She Kept by ReShonda Tate Billingsley.

Members love to decorate the library meeting space and enjoy delicious refreshments at each meeting.

Library Board member Georgia Morgan Blair said: " Not only do we talk about books, we talk about life situations, women's concerns, and family issues. I really enjoy the book club."
