Birmingham, Ala. - Hold onto your heart-patterned boxers! New York Times bestselling author Matt Dinniman, creator of the wildly popular Dungeon Crawler Carl series, is coming to Birmingham Public Library virtually on Thursday, June 11, and local fans have a chance to experience the event together.
Join fellow Dungeon Crawler Carl enthusiasts at the Springville Road Regional Branch Library for an epic watch party featuring Dinniman's virtual author talk. Fans are encouraged to come meet other readers - and enjoy donuts - while tuning in to hear from one of fantasy's most entertaining authors. Springville Road Regional Library will provide free cat ears to attendees while supplies last – so get there early!
For those unfamiliar, Dinniman’s book genre is lit RPG (Role playing game). His books involve the main characters progressing through a series of levels, gaining stats and collecting items along the way. Learn more about Dinniman’s rise from self-published author to currently Number 4 on the New York Times best-selling list by reading this article https://www.seattlemet.com/arts-and-culture/2026/05/dungeon-crawler-carl-matt-dinniman
The virtual conversation will focus on Dinniman's latest release, A Parade of Horribles, the newest installment in the bestselling Dungeon Crawler Carl saga. In the novel, Carl and Princess Donut find themselves navigating the dungeon's tenth floor amid growing chaos, mysterious glitches, and ominous rumors about a place known only as "a Parade of Horribles." As always, the stakes are higher than ever, and Carl has plans of his own that could change everything.
Whether you're a longtime crawler or just discovering the adventures of Carl and Princess Donut, this event offers a fun opportunity to connect with fellow fans and hear directly from the author behind one of fantasy's most beloved series.
