The Birmingham Public Library (BPL) is excited to welcome Dr. Celeste Reese-Willis, keynote speaker for the 2023 BPL Staff Day. Known as Dr. Celeste MD from her weekly Monday morning spotlight "House Calls" on CBS 42 in Birmingham, Dr. Celeste will share words of encouragement for library staff at the Central Library this Thursday, October 19.

 Dr. Reese-Willis, also known as Doctor Celeste MD, is a Birmingham-based board-certified family medical physician and expert in urgent care. She and her husband, Vincent Willis, Jr., have two daughters, Madisen, 18, and Morgan, 16. 

A nationally recognized speaker, Dr. Reese-Willis is author of the 2020 Amazon Best-seller, Vitality: Your Body Loves You; Love It Back A Montgomery native, Dr. Celeste is the oldest daughter of five children born to James and Betty Reese. 

A 1991 graduate of the LAMP (Lanier academic Motivational Program) of Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery, she completed a Bachelor of Science degree from UAB in 1996 before getting her doctorate from Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. After completing residency training at the former Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, Dr. Celeste began her career in urgent care. 

One of Dr. Celeste’s greatest passions is mentoring young girls to pursue their dreams despite the challenges one is presented in life. Dr. Celeste shares her medical knowledge via her Facebook Fan Page and YouTube channel, “Let’s Chat with Doctor Celeste MD. ' She also appears on “House Calls,” a weekly segment on CBS-42 News every Monday morning in which Dr. Celeste shares helpful health tips.

 Dr. Celeste turned her enthusiasm for equipping her patients with health tools to live vital, productive lives into her book Vitality which she calls her “ode to my patients'' -focused on living that life of health, wellness, and vitality.
