The Local Authors Expo is this Saturday, November 4, at the Central Library, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. This expo is a great way to find your new favorite book or connect with other creatives over a shared interest, like local author Chelsea Rodriguez

Rodriguez is a Librarian Ⅰ at the Central Library who works in the Central Library's Youth Department and as a part of the Outreach Team.

In a short Q&A with her, she tells us what inspired her and some of her favorite books.

BPL: Please introduce yourself and tell us about your book.

CR: My name is Chelsea Rodriguez. My book is Glow. It is a children's picture book about a little raccoon that liberates a glowstick!

BPL: What inspired you to write your book?

CR: I thought it was a cute idea and I'm really glad that I was able to make it happen.

BPL: Who is your favorite author and why?

CR: Elizabeth Gilbert is known for her memoirs, but she writes really beautiful fiction. I love L.M. Montgomery.

BPL: What do you hope readers get out of your book?

CR: I hope that they get a sense of fun and silliness!

BPL: Any advice you would give for new authors or those desiring to become an author?

CR: Ever Forward!

You can purchase Glow on Ingram, Amazon, Kindle, or at the Local Authors Expo on Saturday, November 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Central Library
