2022 Local Authors Expo Spotlight: Hali Chambers

Portrait of Hail Chambers. She is smiling at the camera and resting her hand against her face. She is wearing a bright red blazer.

Another author joining us at the Local Authors Expo on Saturday, November 5, is Hali Chambers. Chambers is a business psychologist and co-owner of a management consulting firm. She is a native of Ensley who hosts business workshops in hopes of inspiring entrepreneurship as a way to build a strong, healthy community.

In a quick Q&A with the Birmingham Public Library, this is what Chambers had to share.

BPL: Tell me about your book.

Chambers: [When Life Gives You Lemons... is] an empowering children's book about three young siblings who learn how to work together to start a successful business in their community.

BPL: What inspired you to write your book(s)?

Chambers: The inspiration for this book was Hali's own childhood memories of starting a lemonade stand with the help of her parents and siblings.

BPL: Who is your favorite author and why?

Chambers: God because the Bible provides the guidance and inspiration needed to live on purpose.

BPL: What do you hope readers get out of your books?

Chambers: Her wish is for this book to inspire kids, especially those in underserved communities, to pursue entrepreneurship as a way to build a strong, healthy community. She hopes to change mindsets and help people break free from the generational curse of poverty.

BPL: Any advice you would give for new authors or those desiring to become an author?

Chambers: Keep moving forward, no matter how long it takes to finish your book.

Meet Hali Chambers in person at the Local Authors Expo this Saturday, November 5, at the Central Library, 10:00 a.m.—2:00 p.m. Copies of her book will be available for purchase at the Local Authors Expo.
